With over 1,100 in attendance, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) fall conference in Chicago was the largest since the start of the Covid pandemic! RCR partners Street Jones, SIOR, Bo Hargrove, SIOR, and Braxton Anthony, SIOR attended this event that was held in the historic Hilton Palmer House hotel. All partners attended a welcome event for the Independent Brokerage Group (IBG) hosted by Hickey followed by a private opening night Tenant Rep dinner at The Guage. The final event of the evening was a cocktail on the roof of the Renaissance Hotel sponsored by Panattoni.
The RCR team spent their days at the conference talking with countless SIOR members from across the globe, some that they have transacted with in 2023 and some that they are currently working with on projects. With an exhibit hall full of industry exhibitors, the team learned about the latest tools and technology. AI was certainly the buzzword for the conference. They attended sessions on emerging trends in the changing market environment, lease negations related to subleasing, economic, investment outlooks, and an IBG speed networking event to further engage with independent SIOR’s like RCR.
Panattoni hosted an unforgettable event at the famous House of Blues with live music as did Prologis on the rooftop of The Whit Hotel. As outgoing Chairman of the IBG group within SIOR, Street Jones hosted the closing night’s dinner event on the 99th floor of the iconic Willis (Sears) Tower. Attendees were captivated by the views of the city, and this proved to be a highlight of the conference for most. Street will serve one final year on the IBG leadership committee as immediate past Chairman.
