Since the coming of spring, you may have noticed that despite the COVID-19 “stay at home” order, people seem to be lighter and happier. They are posting pictures and videos that evoke beauty, hope, and joy. With Easter upon us, we see children helping plant gardens, doing yard work, and hugging their pets. Animals seem happy with spring in the air. I know my three dogs – Pete 13, Hank 5, and Jim 11 mos. – are certainly bouncing off the walls for walks and play time which helps to keep me active!
When driving around town, I have noticed people seem less rushed taking outside walks with their families, waving to neighbors working in their yards, or sitting on porches practicing social distancing. Lloyd and I have also enjoyed some social distanced golf, and I hiked on Sunday with a close friend for two hours. We stopped a lot just catching up since we have not seen each other in a while and to catch our breath. She is 77 and I am 68 so we are no spring chickens for the 1500 ft elevation we traversed. It seems we have all found reasons to slow down and “smell the roses”.
I hope this Easter season teaches all of us to appreciate the little things. Yes, being away from family was hard this Easter, but it will make our reunions all the sweeter! Happy Easter everyone and know we are here if you need us. We have a vast network of contacts who may be able to help during this uncertain time, whether it be for business, financial, or personal reasons. Just send us a message if you or someone you know is in need.
