OVERVIEW

Easter Seals UCP of North Carolina and Virginia provides home and community-based support to people living with disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other behavioral health challenges. Easter Seals UCP helps children, adults, and families through evidenced-based and outcome-focused programs to engage and become contributing members of their families and communities. With over 2,500 staff across North Carolina and Virginia, Easter Seals provides services to over 22,000 individuals and families every year. RCR is proud to represent a client that gives so much to the communities where we live and work.

Like many other high-growth organizations, Easter Seals was relying on local managers and staff to handle real estate decisions at each location. However, as the organization continued to expand their staff and services, it became clear that having a centralized real estate strategy was needed. Easter Seals engaged RCR to help analyze and streamline their real estate operations, creating a more unified approach and taking the burden off the local staff.

RESULTS

RCR began by compiling and reviewing critical lease documentation for each of the locations across North Carolina and Virginia to identify any discrepancies and opportunities for improvement. With a grasp on the full portfolio, RCR then assembled a team of professionals to further assist with real estate transactions. RCR facilitated an interview process for the selection of a third-party project manager as well as a design team that shared the vision of the leadership team and was best suited to work with Easter Seals. With the proper team now assembled, a strategic process was created and implemented to drive efficiency and consistency within the organization. RCR has since assisted with sourcing new locations, expansions, renewals, dispositions, and further strategic planning so that Easter Seals is ready for the future and can continue to expand their reach in the communities they serve.
