From Clemson MRED to RCR
Upon graduating from North Carolina State University in May of 2021, I was challenged to figure out the next chapter in my life. From a young age, I have always had a strong pull to real estate and began exploring the opportunities that were within the industry. Unsure of which path to take, I did some research on my options and came across Clemson University’s Master of Real Estate Development Program. Immediately I was intrigued by all that this program offered, and it seemed impossible to pass up.
By the end of the Summer of 2021, I moved to Greenville, South Carolina, home of the Clemson MRED Program. Within my first few weeks, I had already learned more than I could imagine. Each process of development was touched on. The courses I took ranged from Real Estate Law, Real Estate Finance, Financial Modeling, Public-Private Partnerships, Historic Preservation, Construction Operations, Market Analysis, Real Estate Technology, and much more. The program concludes with a Practicum in Commercial Development. In addition to an extensive curriculum, the program took several regional trips to Charlotte, Atlanta, and Columbia as well as a weeklong coastal trip visiting Savannah, Hilton Head, and Charleston.
One of the best parts of the program was the opportunity to travel to Chicago (2021) and Dallas (2022) to the Urban Land Institute Fall Conferences. In addition to ULI, I attended the SIOR Fall Conference in Dallas, where I was first introduced to the Rich Commercial Realty team. After completing the MRED program, I reconnected with the RCR team, bringing me back to Raleigh as a Brokerage Coordinator at Rich Commercial Realty. Networking and relationships are at the core of the industry. I am thankful for my time at Clemson for allowing me the opportunity to connect with countless professionals, like the RCR team, and the knowledge they have shared with me!
